Fabian Cancellara did not let anyone surprise him even on Spanish ground today. After winning the time trial on the first day, the 28-year-old from Berne also completed the sixth stage from Girona to Barcelona as leader in the overall classification.

Cancellara finished tenth and was never in danger of losing his jersey.

The stage was won by Norwegian Thor Hushovd.
